Zeiss Micromanipulation

On the Trail of Life Itself

IVF, ICSI, IMSI

Besides conventional, routine IVF (in-vitro fertilization) applications, the systems from ZEISS also enable you to perform additional applications such as ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) and IMSI (intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection).

Specifically developed equipment helps you to considerably streamline and optimize your workflow - to reduce costs and operating procedures. Each system can be expanded to include cameras and incubation devices, and it is possible to attach all standard manipulators.

All contrasts available

For successful ICSI, clearly visible structures such as zona pellucida and polar body of the egg cell are essential. With IMSI, you can also assess the shape and vacuole count of the sperm cells. In borderline cases, several contrasting techniques have to be possible that can deliver scientifically unambiguous, high-contrast images.

Unique in the Axio Observer research microscope:

All relevant contrast techniques are available on one single stand: Hoffmann modulation contrast, PlasDIC and DIC. In addition, phase contrast can be combined with all methods.

The majority of ICSI experiments take place in plastic dishes for which DIC is not suitable. With the patented PlasDIC contrasting technique from ZEISS, egg and sperm cells can be observed in the same plane. PlasDIC produces a relief that is similar to DIC and delivers an impressive three-dimensional display. Your benefit: a total solution precisely tailored to your needs. Plus a completely vibration-free stand and high-resolution, needle-sharp DIC-like images.

You manipulate living cells or genetic material and want maximum sample protection? You want to make even the very finest structures visible?

Irrespective of size or price – the performance features of our micromanipulation systems speak for themselves:

  • Maximum precision
  • Brilliant optics
  • Versatile contrasting techniques: PlasDIC, DIC, HMC, phase contrast – all on just one stand, depending on the configuration
  • Reliable reproducibility
  • Vibration-free
  • Ergonomic operating concept
