Axio Scope

The adaptable all-around stand for your routine and research applications.

New Modularity.
Five upper parts, three lower parts and two Vario columns enable you to configure your microscope as required. For simple or more complex demands. For transmitted light, reflected light, or fluorescence. A decisive advantage: you no longer invest in features you do not use. Beneficial for your budget!

Economical upgrading - simple and cost-effective.
The modular interface design of Axio Scope makes future upgrades quite simple. This is an attractive economical aspect because you can easily install many components yourself.

As versatile as the tasks performed in institutes and laboratories.
The spectrum of uses ranges from simple routine applications to complex research projects. From anatomy to cytology. From transmitted-light examination to multiple fluorescence labeling. From the thinnest tissue section to specimen heights up to 380 mm.

LED or halogen. Phase contrast or DIC. Never before did a microscope of this class offer as many capabilities.
Whether unstained cells, stained histology sections or ground bone sections: now as before, transmitted-light methods are mainstream for many clinical examinations. The interfaces newly designed for Axio Scope are unique. They add unprecedented flexibility to routine microscopy.

All contrast methods
The great diversity of contrast methods Axio Scope makes available for your applications is surprising for this microscope class: the classical methods of brightfield, darkfield and phase contrast as well as differential interference contrast (DIC) and – for the first time in any upright microscope – PlasDIC, the low-priced interference contrast alternative from Carl Zeiss.

LED or halogen? The standard illuminations
Optimized for different light source geometries, there are three lower stand parts to choose from.

  1. For transmitted-light LED: Economic, long-life and adjustment-free solution providing sufficient intensity for stained histology specimens and other typical tasks in clinical routine.
  2. With 50-W reflector illumination: Delivers abundant light for all standard methods such as brightfield or phase contrast.
  3. For the 100-W halogen lamp: Ideal for thick specimens, and methods requiring a lot of light such as DIC at high magnifications.
